There are over 1.1 billion young people in the world right now. 1.6 million of them will die this year due to violence. 6,000 young people will contract the HIV virus today. 133 million are illiterate. 462 million will survive on $2 or less within the next 24 hours.
We live in an age where poverty and pain are leaving an indelible mark on young people across the world. While we need to fight for the environment we live in, sooner than later, we must also fight for its inhabitants. This will be no easy fight. It is a fight that will require people of integrity, good character, and a desire to serve others.
Boy With a Ball is a unique grassroots organization committed to building teams capable of countering the horrific attacks young people are facing across our world. Our goal is to help them emerge from a life on the streets, drugs, and dysfunctional families to becoming leaders capable of helping others.
Our friend, Joy, serves with Boy With a Ball. We’ve supported her for several years and even accompanied her on mission trips in Costa Rica. They are doing some neat and unique things to reach young people in difficult situations.

I found you via a comment you left on AONC blog. I feel like this is a wonderful program for kids and as someone who has been involved in volunteering in Belize, I can relate. Will you be at WDS in June. If so I’ll see you there.
