Mission 227 Annual Report

Twelve months ago, I unveiled Mission 227 – my ten-year plan to make an impact in every nation before I turn 60.

As my 50th birthday was approaching last September, I thought it would be neat to know that I’ve made some contribution on every part of the globe during my lifetime. One of my blog mentors, Chris Guillebeau, has a goal of traveling to every nation before his 35th birthday. He will accomplish that goal soon.

I like to travel but I’m not interested in getting my passport stamped as much as Chris. However, I am interested in making an impact on the world. I’m called to do so. If you’re a person of faith like me, so are you.

The internet makes this task so much easier. One reason I started Mission 227 is to demonstrate just how easy it is to be a global influence. Almost all of the contributions that I’ve made this year were done with my computer on my lap as I sat on my couch early in the morning. That’s right. I’m reaching the world sitting on my butt drinking coffee.

It’s almost too easy.

Which leads me to believe that you can do the same. You may not want to go to every country like Chris. You may not want to contribute to causes in each country like me. But I challenge you to do something. It’s easier to make an impact on the world than ever right now. I suspect it will get easier as technology increases.

So what are you waiting on? You can develop a personal plan that will help you make a global impact too. But don’t just follow your plan. Follow the breadcrumbs too. Be open to what opportunities God puts in front of you. Be a spontaneous giver. Be sensitive to the needs around you and be generous when you can.

In the past year, Mission 227 has made an impact on 20 countries. You can look at the LIST to see which countries with links to the specific articles about them. Prior to last year, I had contributed in some way to 17 countries. So my total as of today is 37 which means I have 190 more to go!

(Technically, it’s 191 since South Sudan became a sovereign nation on July 9, 2011. So really it’s Mission 228 now but I don’t want to change the name!)

I didn’t start Mission 227 to make money. Quite the opposite, I started it to give money (and time when possible) away! But you may be interested in joining me and helping.

So how can you help? You can purchase one of the books listed on this site. Either one of my books or one of the books in the column to your right under Recommendations. Simplify and Inside-Out Simplicity were both written by Joshua Becker. The Simple Guide to a Minimalist Life was written by Leo Babauta. These three popular books are eBooks that you can download immediately.

If you’re interested in buying one of my books, my novel The God Robbers will be available IN PRINT very soon! I’d love for you to read it. More on that later.

Unlike many bloggers, I don’t have ads on this site to create revenue. Just a few books.

Another way you can help me is to share this site with your friends often. If you like what you see at Q4NP, please tell others. Post articles on Facebook. Tweet about it. Email links. Whatever. Word of mouth is still the best marketing tool ever. I could use your recommendations. Thanks!

Finally, if you know of any organizations that can profit from Mission 227, please email me at genepjennings (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thanks for reading. My goal is to encourage, challenge, and stretch you to be the unique person that God created you to be! I hope I’m achieving my goal.
